Ganesh chaturthi:
It is one of the biggest festival in India. It is most awaited festival India. A ten day festival, it starts on the fourth day of Hindu luni-solar calendar month Bhadrapada, which typically falla inGregorian months of August or September. The festival ends on the tenth day after start, wherein the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, then immersed in nearby water body such as a river or ocean. It is an emotional moment for all the people.
The origin of this festival is still unclear. But before British empire took control over India
Ganesh chaturthi was only celbreted in maharashtra as private family celebration. Then freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak started Ganesh chaturthi as a festival. Now it is celebrating in every part of the India.
